Psoriasis is a chronic, recurrent dermatosis characterized by scaly, itchy patches and inflammation. It is an increased growth of the basal layer of the epidermis. The patches are most commonly found on forearms, knees, legs, and on the scalp. Psoriasis is not contagious or infectious.
